Overview

XPO Media Broker is used for

  • executing programmatic buying of worldwide media space and
  • performing campaign optimization, which is available in two modes: manual or automatic, driven by AI

Dashboard

When you first login into the system (via https://xpo.knorex.com/), you will see the dashboard. The dashboard gives you an overview to all your campaigns and enables you to access to all the features and capabilities of the platform.

Launch A Campaign

Detailed Instruction:

  1. From the campaign dashboard, click on new
  2. Select the campaign objective
  3. Name your campaign and specify the advertiser for the campaign.
  4. Add in any tag to label this campaign
  5. Specify the start and end date of the campaign
  6. Configure the campaign budget
  7. Select the conversion goal for this campaign
  8. Specify the media fee/rate that you want to set for the campaign

Create Ad Group

An ad group is a set of rules that you need to apply to your campaign in order to utilize the available targeting options.

Detailed Instruction:

  1. Open the campaign
  2. Click on the option new ad group
  3. Select Ad Group type (Display, Video, Facebook)
  4. Input the ad group details
  5. Schedule the ad group
  6. Add the budget details
  7. Select manual or automatic bidding strategy
  8. Click on submit

Change Ad Targeting Options

Detailed Instruction:

  1. Once the ad group is created
  2. Open the ad group
  3. Navigate to the left panel to apply the targeting options available
  4. Navigate to individual targeting options (For example frequency capping )
  5. Click on save

Audience Segmentation

Audience segmentation is the process to categorize users into different segments or sub-groups so that you can create tailored targeting campaigns, creatives or marketing strategies for such sub-groups/segments. Segmentation can be done based on behavioral, contextual, demography and so on, different types of supported options.

How to Create First-Party Audience Segments

Detailed Instruction:

  1. Navigate to the audience tab
  2. Click new
  3. Input the name of the audience segment
  4. Select first party segment
  5. You can create audience segments by selecting the respective funnel and conversion goals OR URL (Site retargeting)
  6. Click on submit

How to Create Third-Party Audience Segments

Detailed Instruction:

  1. Navigate to the audience tab
  2. Click new
  3. Input the name of the audience segment
  4. Select third party segments
  5. Once the segment is created, search for the segment and click on edit
  6. Mix and match the segments to target specific audience
  7. Select the segments from the available list.
  8. Click on submit

Creatives

The creative dashboard gives you a glance of the all the creatives that are hosted through Media Broker. You can also filter the creatives based on their status (Draft, Published, Paused, Expired etc.)

Detailed Instruction:

  1. Click on the creative name from the creative dashboard to view the creative details
  2. To view the creative logs, click on the audit history option on the left side
  3. Next click on the edit creative option to edit the creative in XPO designer
  4. To view the ad groups linked to the specific creative scroll down

Utility

Under the Utility menu, you can perform various auxiliary functions including uploading your own app, segment, geo location, device and site list to which the campaigns can be targeted.  The format of this list can be downloaded in excel format and can be uploaded again.

Upload Data

Detailed Instruction:

  1. Go to the Utility menu.
  2. To upload the app list, click on app list option, download the template
  3. Click on the  new app list option to upload the app list back and click on submit
  4. Similarly, for device, geo location and site list the same steps are applicable

Use Apps As An Option For Campaign Targeting

Detailed Instruction:

  1. Go to the Utility menu
  2. Click on app list
  3. Click on download template file
  4. Click on new app list to upload the updated list back to the system
  5. Save the app list table
  6. Once ad group is created for any campaign, apply the app list to the ad group.

Use Sites As An Option For Campaign Targeting

Detailed Instruction:

  1. Go to the Utility menu
  2. Click on site list
  3. Click on download template file
  4. Click on new site list to upload the updated list back to the system
  5. Save the site list table
  6. Once ad group is created for any campaign, apply the site list to the ad group.

Use Geo-Locations As An Option For Campaign Targeting

Detailed Instruction:

  1. Go to the Utility menu
  2. Click on geo list
  3. Click on download template file
  4. Click on new geo list to upload the updated list back to the system
  5. Save the geo list table
  6. Once ad group is created for any campaign, apply the geo list to the specific campaign.

Use Segments (via Contextual Targeting) As An Option For Campaign Targeting

Detailed Instruction:

  1. Go to the Utility menu
  2. Click on segment list
  3. You can create user defined segment list
  4. In case any additional keywords are needed click on the action option to clone any user defined segment.
  5. Once cloned, in the copied segment list you can add more keywords
  6. To create new segments, click on new
  7. Input name of the segment
  8. Input the keyword and hit enter
  9. If applicable, input URL to analyze
  10. Click on save

 

 

Use Device List As An Option For Campaign Targeting

Detailed Instruction:

  1. Go to the Utility menu
  2. Click on device list
  3. Click on download template file
  4. Click on new device list to upload the updated list back to the system
  5. Save the device list table
  6. Once the ad group is created, link the device list to the ad group

Pixels

You can create conversion goals, remarketing pixels and configure the default tag configuration. You can further generate reports once the pixels have recorded users. This will help you to get the conversion percentage and retarget users in the long run.

Generating Remarketing Pixels

  1. Navigate to the pixels tab
  2. Click on remarketing
  3. Click on new remarketing tag
  4. Input the remarketing info name → variable
  5. In case you want to add any third-party script, turn on the third-party script option and add the script

Generating Conversion Pixels

  1. Navigate to the pixels Tab
  2. Click on conversion
  3. Click on new Goal
  4. Input the conversion info name, destination URL, variable, page type etc.
  5. If there are multiple steps for which conversion needs to be tracked then you can turn on the funnel option and add the different steps
  6. In case you want to add any third-party script, turn on the third-party script option and add the script

Reports

The reporting dashboard allows us to pull data on the campaign’s performance and also on the conversion. Reports are categorized as follows:

  • Insight Report: This report provides you with all the campaign performance data, like total impressions, total clicks, click through rate (CTR) etc.
  • Attribution Report: This report provides you with all the conversion related data like conversion percentage, interaction percentage etc.

Generating Insight Report

Detailed Instruction:

  1. Navigate to the reports tab
  2. Click on insight reports
  3. Select the required dates, medium, campaigns, and breakdown filters
  4. Apply the required filters
  5. Select the dimensions (columns)
  6. Click on the action button
  7. Enter the recipient’s email
  8. Click on send
  9. Download report from your email

Generating Attribution Report

Detailed Instruction:

  1. Navigate to the reports tab
  2. Click on attribution reports
  3. Apply the required dates and advertiser filters
  4. Apply the required filters
  5. Select the dimensions (Columns)
  6. Click on the action button
  7. Enter the recipient’s email
  8. Click on send
  9. Download report from your email
  10. To analyze data for specific conversion goal, click on the individual conversion goal
  11. Select the filters, attribution type and click on apply

Detailed Instruction: How to Add deal

  1. Navigate to the Setting tab
  2. Click on Publisher Management Platform
  3. Click on New Deal button
  4. Fill up Deal information.
  5. Click on Save button
  6. Deal will be available to be used under Ad group level

  • What are the ad networks that are supported in Media Broker?

          We support more than 100 plus ad networks.

 

  • Can I create both first and third-party segments through Media Broker ?

          Yes, you can create both first party and third party. We have data synced from major DMP’s that can used for precise targeting.

 

  • Is it possible to have the margin fee added but not making it visible in the reports?

          Yes, it’s possible to not have the margin fee reflected in the reports.

 

  • What are the creative types that are supported through Media Broker?

          The creative types that are supported are:

    • Dynamic display ad
    • Dynamic content ad
    • Dynamic native ad
    • Static banner ads
    • Rich media ad
    • Third party tag
  • Can we target users at IP level? 

          Yes, you can upload your IP list into the system using the Geo segment option.

 

  • Is it possible to piggyback third party script ?

    Yes, you can piggyback third-party script when generating the remarketing/conversion pixel .
